1. Information We Collect

Viewington is designed to be local-first across the desktop app and web app. We do not require accounts, and we do not run a backend for storing your stream lists, playlists, or profiles.

• Stored locally on your device: stream lists, playlists, profile/layout data, sidebar settings, quality preferences, and similar app preferences. In the web app, this is stored in your browser storage. In the desktop app, this is stored in Electron app storage on your device.
• Not stored by us: we do not store your channel lists, watch history, playlists, or settings on our servers.
• Usage and telemetry data: we may collect information about how Viewington is accessed and used, including app version, device or browser information, IP address, download clicks, app opens, and usage patterns.
• Updates and downloads: the desktop app may contact Viewington update or download services to check for available releases, download installers, and install updates.

When analytics are enabled, the desktop app may use a locally generated telemetry identifier that is hashed before it is sent. We may also receive operational logs from hosting, analytics, update, and download providers.

2. Twitch and Other Third Parties

Viewington embeds Twitch streams using Twitch's official embed/player scripts in both the web app and desktop app. When you watch streams, Twitch may collect information directly through the embedded player, including through cookies and similar technologies, according to Twitch's policies. We do not control Twitch's data collection.

3. Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

Depending on how Viewington is deployed, we may use analytics and monitoring tools to understand feature usage, improve performance, and maintain reliability. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and may process usage data.

You can control cookies and tracking through your browser settings, through Twitch's own settings for Twitch content embedded in this app, and through operating-system controls for installed apps.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide Viewington, operate downloads and updates, maintain reliability, understand product usage, troubleshoot problems, and improve the desktop and web apps.

5. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information; however, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Choices

• You can clear locally stored data by clearing site data in your browser or by removing Viewington desktop app data from your device.
• You can uninstall the desktop app using your operating system's app removal tools.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page.
